MeeGo on Aava Mobile overtakes Android 2.2 on Nexus One in speed of JS rendering

Remember, we are not so long ago told how the browser in the OS Android 2.2 Froyo could far outstrip in speed rendering javascript in your analog Safari iOS 4? And now it's a message that the development of Google will also have to make room on the podium. In the test application SunSpider specified browser could show much better results compared to its competitor in the Android 2.2 Froyo - 4215 ms v. 5795 ms. At the same time, we note that direct comparison of performance in this case is not quite correct because of the difference in the hardware equipment devices.

After all, the prototype mobile device Aava Mobile Intel Moorestown processor used with the frequency of 1.5 GHz, built on the architecture of x86, while its rival Android smartphone Nexus One set ARM chip Snapdragon, running at 1 GHz. Thus, the result of the test could affect the difference in the architecture of CPU, and different clock speeds. By the way, and Aava Mobile is just a reference design, intended to show the capabilities of the platform.

Intel seem to be clinging to the one thing they have left in their fight to get into mobile phones - their javascript performance. How pathetic. I for one can't believe that ARM are not resting on their laurels in all of these areas, and will be doing many things to speed up all areas of their software performance.

Intel said ARM didn't have the full internet - now we have Flash 10.1 on ARM.
