altWhile Sony is seriously worried about their shrinking market shares of mobile video games since the phenomenal success of the App Store, Nintendo did not care for the competition from Apple. In an interview with VentureBeat, Cammie Dunaway from Nintendo said that the 11.2 million registered copies of the DS sold last year and more than 125 million units sold since release, Apple did not constitute any threat to Nintendo.

Nintendo certainly does not need to worry on this issue - at least for now. In terms of sold copies of the Nintendo DS console is the most popular mobile in the world, and the iPhone and iPod touch are not focused mainly on video games. You could say that Apple's success in this field came almost accidentally. Apple only recently been promoted as an iPod touch device ideal for video games. Cupertino, California began to show more interest in mobile gaming market after the resounding success of the App Store. According to Nintendo's business name is still synonymous for many people, "video games", and Apple only has plunged the tips of the fingers in this field. However, the explosion of popularity of games for iPhone / iPod touch will not let Nintendo's long rest on our laurels.
