altApple allows you to use geolocation to create applications for the iPhone, which give the user information such as weather, the nearest ATM, or traffic conditions. However, if the developer tries to use this technology to display ads, the application is not approved for the App Store. The message sent through Apple's developer blog Developer Connection.

This means that geolocation can not be implement in applications that allow mobile advertisers to run specific ads, depending on the location of the user that this application is currently being used. Apple is not explained, however, which derives from this position.

Some people consider that Apple has, in accordance with existing doings, he tries to protect you and care about their satisfaction resulting from the use of that particular platform. Others argue, however, that Cupertino is preparing its own system of mobile advertising, and thus gets rid of the competition beforehand.

Hi Anton,
Apple with its purchase of Quattro already has its own mobile advertising system---the measure taken by Apple I think is great for end-users, but it does propose a fair competition question. As the co-founder of Presiso, we are working on an ad serving algorithm that not only uses the users location but also other parameters, that we think add great context and make the ads much more relevant, thus location should not be the only or the main consideration when serving ads, what do you think?
