Apple has banned mention of the mobile platform Google Android in the description of programs to be placed in the store App Store. This was reported in a startup blog Flash of Genius.

To boost the sales of application Flash of Genius: SAT Vocab, intended to prepare for exams, the company Flash of Genius added a description on the App Store the information that this application has entered the final round of the competition conducted by Google Android Developer Challenge. The developers hoped that this reference will increase their income and, consequently, revenue Apple, which takes part of the proceeds from the sales.

Nevertheless, Apple has asked to remove this information from the description, explaining that does not allow mention of competing platforms. Upon completion of this requirement, the application was given the green light. The company Flash of Genius felt that the ban is quite logical, and that work with Apple, in spite of everything - a pleasure.

As we have previously Apple has banned the deployment of applications Google Voice and Google Latitude, as they repeated the basic functionality of the iPhone and could be confusing for users. Previously, was blocked by a mobile version of web browser Opera for the same reason. Community criticize Apple for such actions, which sometimes have very strange excuse.
