altThe first smartphone running Android 2.0, which is Motorola Milestone, is soon to appear on sale in Europe as well. The manufacturer states that already November 16 smartphone can be purchased in some European countries (Germany and Italy). It is not yet certain whether the Android 2.0 will update as well as for users of older devices. Only HTC has confirmed that version 2.0 is working on a model adapted to the HTC hero - but it will still take some time given the need to use its own user interface HTC Sense. As explained in an interview representative HTC, the new version of Android will probably be well equipped with Tattoo model.

Identical to the HTC Hero in design Touch G2 is the case with the Android 1.6; devices with this release the system are to appear later this year. Do not know anything about any OS updates in the case of Pulse and G1 models - but mobile operators have performed on this internal consultation. In August there were fears that the G1 because of the very small system partition will not be able to handle version 1.6, but they proved to be unfounded.

HTC Magic model equipped with a 1.6 version of Android for the time being it will not be updated to the 2.0 release. Information about the application of the new version of Android and Samsung has not entered - users of the model i7500 Galaxy must continue to work with version 1.5.

Some manufacturers even in the newly introduced models on the market still use version 1.6. Planned for December Acer Liquid and a new model of Sony Ericsson Xperia Series - X10 to debut on the market with a version of the operating system, which then no longer the latest.

Fortunately, users can upgrade to a newer smartphones, even without official update prepared by the manufacturers. System Android is free - of course without any additional applications installed by network operators. There is a variety known as Custom ROM versions of the firmware (eg, CyanogenMod), whose installation poses no major problems.
