Microsoft integrates Windows Live Sync and Windows Live Mesh in a single service

Microsoft announced the merger of two of its products with similar features - Windows Live Mesh and Windows Live Sync - one that will be called Windows Live Mesh and will include the best of these two programs. The decision to move to use the name Windows Live Mesh at the end of the period of beta testing because it contains not only the idea of synchronization, but also more fully reflects the essence of technology.

In the process of beta testing at Microsoft found that the average user is working with more than 675 songs of average file size of 1.8 MB and 240 MB of uses in the "cloud" storage. Since then, in June the company introduced the beta version of the service, more than 240 000 people have tried Windows Live Sync. Many users have noted the inability of the program to synchronize hidden files, so that the developers added this option.

A large number of responses caused the inability to see the missing files in synchronized folders. Now, after changes in Windows Live Mesh finds missing files and the user can see the name and date of last modification of the file.

Now, synchronizing files in the cloud, users of the beta program get 2 GB of "cloud" space, while only 2% of these users need more than 1,5 Gb. However, despite such a small demand for large amounts of storage, Microsoft will increase the amount of online storage with 2 GB to 5 GB.
