Such news is yet another indicator of the seriousness with which Microsoft's new Web standards. In addition, the standardization of the World Wide Web fonts should play into the hands of Web designers, as potentially enabling them to use a much larger number of fonts than is currently installed on users' computers.

It is worth noting that the first time Microsoft has so seriously approached the use of technology Web Open Font Format. Before her stood mostly independent developers of browsers, for example, companies Mozilla and Opera Software, have long been seeking to promote the use of the Internet's most advanced technological solutions and developments.

However, after several years of traffic on its own path Microsoft, finally saw my interest in web standards. And the organization of World Wide Web Consortium has acquired a powerful ally, has become to the same sponsor of the new technology Web Open Font Format as a W3C standard. However, it is unclear whether support will WOFF new browser Internet Explorer 9, which is currently under development.
