New driver for ATI FirePro improves application performance by 20%

AMD today announced that users of professional graphics solutions can now gain access to the functionality of the new graphics driver, ATI FirePro, designed to improve the reliability and performance. As the company is available for download, Version 8.702 driver ATI FirePro graphics subsystem was the result of efforts in the field optimizations and settings that resulted in a significant increase in productivity - more than 20% - of applications such as Dassault Systèmes CATIA, Autodesk 3ds Max and PTC ProENGINEER.

The main features of your graphics subsystem ATI FirePro:

    * Compared to the previous driver version 8.702 guarantees Dassault Systèmes CATIA users increase productivity by more than 25%, and the users of Autodesk 3ds Max and PTC Pro / Engineer - more than 20%.
    * Users of Adobe Photoshop CS4 were able to produce images with 10-bit color on a component that facilitates accurate color in Photoshop and 10-bit displays, as well as the opportunity to support an expanded pass-through 10-bit color processing.
    * In addition to existing support of active, passive and autostereoscopic displays are now supported also displays Blue-line Stereo sync with stereoscopic glasses.
    * When you work with some ATI FirePro professional graphics cards now supported through DisplayPort output audio formats, 5.1 Dolby Digital and 5.1 DTS, as well as 8-channel and two-channel uncompressed audio.


This year, AMD plans to release a new version of the drivers with improved reliability, performance and extended functionality in the emerging bi-monthly updates for laptops equipped with professional graphics engine ATI FirePro.
