One article on the site suggested OSnews.com Novell employee Jonathan Pobst idea to create an image editing program like Paint.NET. Its application is called the Pinta, and Pobst has just published it in version 0.1. Pobst wrote most of the code itself using Gtk + and Cairo, and only fit for different functions and effects used the code Paint.NET 3.0 available on the MIT license.
Pint as a simple paint program is designed for all users who do not need the advanced features of GIMP. Currently the program supports basic image processing tools such as brush, pencils, and some forms and transform planes. It is also equipped with some photographic effects (such as transformation to sepia or black and white).
Interested persons may now download the binary packages for popular distributions like OpenSuse and Ubuntu. Anyone who wants to try Pint on Mac OS X or Windows I can reach for the developer prepared a ZIP archive. Program to function under Mac OS X I need to be installed environment Mono and Gtk # on Windows.
