Solskjaer Says Man Utd Have Quality To Win Champions League

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted that his Manchester United side can "go all the way" in the Champions League ahead of their quarter-final clash against Barcelona.

"And of course with that VAR decision, even though for me it's a penalty, you can still be unlucky and not get it in the last minute and then we'd be out and no one would really remember the PSG performance".

United fans will be boosted to see Jesse Lingard among the stars making the trip, with the midfielder having been ruled out for the last six games with a hamstring injury.

Bale has been at Real Madrid since 2013 and is a four-time victor of the Champions League, although there is no chance of a fifth this term after bowing out to Ajax in the round of 16.

For the first time since the 2009 Champions League quarter-finals, four English clubs have place settings at the top table of European football.

In 1999, comebacks were the hallmark of United's success, particularly a Roy Keane-inspired recovery against Juventus in the semi-final and the 2-1 win over Bayern Munich that would cement Solskjaer's place in the club's history.

The 46-year-old said: 'Any game you lose is a big anti-climax. "We're not challenging to win the league this year but we are challenging to win the other two trophies".

"We've got great faith in him as the next Michael Carrick".

"If you put the work in, I believe, if you work hard, show the right attitude, if you go in every single day and do the right things you can maximise your chances".

"I think I've answered that question quite well here", he said with a smile.
