Some Democrats don't want to wait until 2020 to oust President Trump, but with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi now coming out against impeachment, they're not sure what comes next.

Our Verdict: Steyer won't let politics stand in the way of impeachment. "I don't think it's fair to say one way or the other before the process has played out".

I'm not for impeachment.

Steyer is the head of a campaign, Need To Impeach, that calls on members to engage in political actions around impeaching President Donald Trump.

"And he's just not worth it".

"I'm not for impeachment", Pelosi told The Washington Post Magazine in an interview published Monday.

What we are witnessing here is the early stages of a public relations battle to convince a solid majority of Americans that Trump ought to be impeached, assuming the investigations yield real evidence in support of impeachment. "And I believe that when people get a chance through hearings like the hearing with Mr. Cohen in front of the House Oversight Committee, Americans will be glued to their TV sets that they will in fact see with their own eyes directly how lawless this president is, and they will insist that he be removed from office".

The president is facing investigations on multiple fronts -- from Muller to the Southern District of NY to House Democrats on Capitol Hill.

Last month, after Trump declared a national emergency and ordered the Pentagon to shift funds appropriated by Congress for military construction to build his border, Pelosi said, quite correctly, that in seeking to bypass the congressional "power of the purse", Trump was "shredding the Constitution".

As for the two-year campaign by the Democrats denouncing Trump as a Russian agent and declaring his 2016 election victory to be the result of "meddling" by Vladimir Putin, Pelosi was silent. "I think Pelosi realizes this: We can't spend all of our time concentrating on what we're fighting against", he said.

"The now-public approach could help insulate Democrats from future criticism if the party does move forward with impeachment". "And yet in declaring that impeachment, therefore, is 'just not worth it, ' Ms. Pelosi may also be setting a far-reaching new standard with implications long after Mr. Trump leaves office".

"Nancy Pelosi is smart to say there shouldn't be an impeachment, because there's no grounds to do it", McCarthy said.

On Tuesday, Ocasio-Cortez said: "Legally I don't think it's something that can ever be 100 percent off the table, but if that's how she feels right now I respect that".
