NFL Bungling Giants give Corey Coleman 1st-round RFA tender By Jesse Reed

Beckham is set to join the Browns after the AFC North squad agreed to a trade with the New York Giants on Tuesday.

NY will receive the 17th overall pick and a third-round pick in the 2019 National Football League draft, as well as safety Jabrill Peppers. They are certainly not going to replace him with the 17th overall pick in the forthcoming draft. Gettleman made this move not even seven months after signing Beckham to a record five-year, $95 million contract.

Peppers, the second of Cleveland's three first-round selections in the 2017 NFL Draft, started 29 games and compiled 136 tackles and two interceptions.

In other words, Beckham if he wanted, could potentially raise a stink about the trade and wanting a new contract - a la Antonio Brown to the Bills in a deal that fell through - and create some issues. After spending the vast majority of his career at defensive end, he lined up as an outside linebacker in the Giants' 3-4 defense this past season.

"I did not expect Beckham to get traded", Francesa said.

When Martin isn't furiously trying to finish the "Game of Thrones" series, he's cheering for both NY football teams.

It's amusing to think that going to play for the Cleveland Browns is actually a better situation for Beckham than being in NY with that stagnant offense. The Giants' odds to win the title have dropped to 80-to-1. The final three seasons of the deal - 2021-23 - each have $1 million roster bonuses, plus workout bonuses of $250,000.

By unloading Beckham, the Giants have committed to Saquon Barkley as the face of the franchise. I've felt that from the Carolina game where they didn't discipline him, they've ruined everything.
