Becoming a billionaire at 21 means she snatched the crown from Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, who previously earned that title when he was 23 years old.

Reality TV star, Kylie Jenner has knocked Mark Zuckerberg off the position of youngest billionaire.

Kylie Jenner who spoke on becoming the world's youngest self-made billionaire said, "I didn't expect anything". She added that the recognition "feels really good".

In February the youngest Kardashian sister made headlines after Tristan Thompson was once again caught stepping out on her, only this time, the "other woman" was reportedly family friend Jordyn Woods.

The top of this year's Forbes annual list had some familiar names, with Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Bernard Arnault, and Carlos Slim Helu made the top five.

Some people on social media have also challenged the notion that Jenner should be described as "self-made", considering that the youngest sibling of the Kardashian-Jenner clan was born into a family of wealth and fame. Kylie Cosmetics is worth around $900 million, Forbes estimates, and Jenner owns 100 percent of it.

Kylie Cosmetics past year signed a deal with Ulta Beauty to put her products in all of the retailer's 1,163 U.S. stores.

It's also estimated her business racked in about US$360m in sales just previous year.

Though many have been left wondering if the term "self-made" could apply to someone from a wealthy family like the Kardashians, Jenner set the record straight, revealing that her parents, Kris and Caitlyn Jenner, "cut her off at the age of 15". Kylie is now a mere 21 and is already a self-made billionaire. "What I'm trying to say is I did have a platform, but none of my money is inherited". She also owns an impressive portfolio of real estate. "I honestly don't wake up even thinking about it".
