On a day of competition for the royals, at the Roscor Youth Village Kate and William went head to head in a canoeing race on Lough Erne.

They were greeted on arrival by cheering crowds who had gathered on Botanic Avenue.

The Duchess, 37, stunned in a £1,590 Missoni striped metallic-knit wrap dress in a flattering powder blue, featuring a mid-length pleated skirt, just hours after donning her sport gear for an impromptu football match.

William and Kate will undertake engagements in Belfast, Balleymena and County Fermanagh, all of which will largely focus on the young people of Northern Ireland.

Lord Lieutenant of Belfast Fionnuala Jay-O'Boyle and manager of the Empire, Stephen Bradley, extended the official welcome to the royal couple to the event where inspirational young leaders have come together to be celebrated.

During their tour of the venue, the couple also met Northern Ireland footballing great Pat Jennings. And I hope you can all join me in thanking and congratulating her personally this evening.
