LeBron James drafts Dwyane Wade to play with him in All-Star Game

Giannis thinking of drafting Curry with 1st All-Star pick

Giannis thinking of drafting Curry with 1st All-Star pick

After Thursday's practice in Sacramento, Wade said "it's only right" he's on Team LeBron.

LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo were named All-Star captains after securing the most fan votes in this year's balloting.

For his first pick from among the reserves, Antetokounmpo picked his long-standing running mate and first-time All-Star, Khris Middleton. With the final two picks, Dirk Nowitzki and Dwyane Wade, James will get first dibs. He would later add former teammate Kyrie Irving, Kawhi Leonard, and James Harden as his starters. "Tampering rules [do] not apply on All-Star Weekend", three-time National Basketball Association champion LeBron swiftly replied.

If you're having a hard time following all the comings and goings surrounding the Milwaukee Bucks over the last 48 hours or so, I don't blame you.

Team LeBron also includes New Orleans Pelicans post player Anthony Davis, Golden State wing Klay Thompson, 76ers point Ben Simmons, Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard, San Antonio Spurs post player LaMarcus Aldridge, Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Antony Towns and Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal.

Then, to spite James, Antetokounmpo picked Ben Simmons. James and Curry were the captains previous year, but the order of their picks were not revealed or aired.

As the pair laughed over James' conundrum of playing against his protégé, the spirit of the National Basketball Association trade deadline took over, with James proposing a trade to send Russell Westbrook to Team Giannis in exchange for Simmons.

"I'm going to enjoy it", Wade said.

Antetokounmpo originally drafted Simmons before James proposed swapping him for Westbrook. He then proceeded to add some global flavor between his picks of Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic and Philadelphia 76ers maestro Ben Simmons, all first-time All-Stars as well.
