Suarez pens farewell message to Barcelona

The Gunners travel to the Etihad Stadium for Sunday's match after a quiet transfer window saw them recruit Suarez on loan from Barcelona until the end of the season.

The Gunners signed Barca wideman Denis Suarez yesterday and had the opportunity to land his team-mate Malcom, but apparently balked at the size of the loan fee being demanded to bring him in from the Nou Camp.

"It's a shame that he's injured because I'd love to play with him, but I'm sure he'll be back soon".

"He's a player with quality and I think he can help us with his quality, and also his ambition to do something important here".

Emery, asked if Denis will start tomorrow, said he has not taken a decision yet.

Mesut Ozil captained Arsenal in their recent English Premier League fixture where they won 2-1. It is a good challenge for him and for us.

The 25-year-old, who made two senior appearances for City during an earlier spell at the club, was the only arrival for Arsenal, who were hamstrung by a lack of funds for permanent signings.

"No change", said Emery.

"After, he played with Barcelona, not in the first XI a lot of times, but he helped them there and played in the Champions League, in an important team with important players".

'When City are playing at home it is very hard but we want to show everybody how we can play. He has a big experience in Spain, at Sevilla, at Villarreal, where he played in a semi-final against Liverpool in the Europa League.

Denis Suarez hasn't been at Arsenal long but already it seems as though he's making a strong impression on his new teammates.

And Emery revealed the player has adapted to life in north London "quickly", potentially accelerating his passage into Emery's matchday squad at the first time of asking. "It's very hard but I trust in my players". "I think in Sunday's match every player will be with a very big ambition to show their best performance and quality against them".
