Kevin Hart Apologizes for His Past Anti-LGBTQ Comments

Lemon, who's part of the LGBTQ community, criticized the comedian for not offering an apology when the tweets surfaced last month.

The 2019 Academy Awards, set to air on Sunday, Feb. 24 on ABC, now does not have a replacement host.

During a Wednesday appearance on ABC's "Good Morning America", the "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" star gave an emphatic "no" when asked if he would take on the emcee role.

"I'm done with it", Hart said, adding that the controversy will receive no more "energy" from him. In my mind I got the job, it was a dream job, and things came up that simply prohibited it from happening. There is no more conversation about it. I'm literally over that. I'm over the moment. if it's accepted, great, and if it's not, it's nothing I can control. "And I'm about today".

"It gets no more energy from me", Hart said.

"I'm not saying how I've changed anymore, I'm giving no more explanation of who I am, I've done it". You can see that embarrassment on the faces of almost every celebrity who appears in the crowd in that video.

Despite the backlash, Hart refused to apologize and instead quit over the controversy, blindsiding the Academy and leaving them without a host. Less than 48 hours later, Hart bowed out of his hosting duties after a social media mob came after him for decade-old tweets (as social media mobs do).

Hart, pressured by the academy to formally apologize, initially offered a non-apology.

But he's made it crystal clear this time that he is OVER IT, he will NOT be talking about it, and wants everyone else to let it go too. "But I don't believe in going backwards".

For the first time in nearly 30 years, the Oscars will air without a host, Variety has confirmed. "I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past".

Hart said that his words were "chopped up" in previous apologies on his Sirius XM show Straight from the Hart. "Once again, Kevin Hart apologizes for his remarks that hurt members of the LGBTQ community". I think that in the times that we're living in, we have to be understanding and accepting of people and change.

'If anybody out there wants to think that Kevin Hart is such a monster that he wouldn't love someone due to their choice in life, then all power to 'em. "It's his choice as an American. then you can feel about it however you want". You want me to be the face of this community because of this joke?
