It appeared that Jabrill Peppers was going to be able to score a 99-yard scoop-and-score touchdown, but the play was blown dead, and the Browns were given the ball at the seven-yard line.

While Baker Mayfield did not openly admit the team wants to ruin the Ravens' playoff dreams, the Browns quarterback alluded to the fact that they know what is at stake for Baltimore.

Cleveland Browns interim head coach Gregg Williams said it best this week leading up to the season finale against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Ravens come into this game with a chance to win the AFC North and to win a Wild Card spot, but they could also fall out of the playoffs.

Cleveland and their No. 1 overall pick had done all they could to extend the Ravens' late-season misery.

It remains to be seen but you're not going to find a more electrifying runner at the quarterback position than Lamar Jackson right now.

The Baltimore Ravens flipped the script and put one heck of an ending on a regular season that featured countless surprises and plot twists. The defense recovered a Jackson fumble at the goal line. Also moving outside his comfort zone was Detroit Lions kicker Matt Prater, who lined up for what looked like a field-goal attempt, but took the snap and threw a ideal pass to Levine Toilolo for a touchdown against Green Bay. Mayfield, the first pick in the 2018 draft, threw three touchdown passes and finishes with the rookie record for TD passes with 27. They told us all season long this year's squad was different, and today, they went out there and proved it. After having incomplete pass to Breshad Perriman and Jarvis Landry overturned to catches via replay it came down to a 4th down play.

"Obviously, very disappointed for us to not get the win, but it's a great team".

Any criticisms about C.J. Mosley's coverage skills were silenced for at least one day.

Cleveland (7-7-1) has rattled off five victories in its past six games, including the past three in a row. The Ravens end a four year playoff drought. It was still the biggest turnaround in team history, but failed to accomplish their goal of finishing above.500 for the first time since they went 10-6 in 2007.

"He's just scratched the surface", Williams said.

To get there, most fans and experts expected a close game.
