Dallas Stars to host 2020 Winter Classic, report says

The 2019-20 NHL season will see the return of the NHL Heritage Classic, last played in 2016, as well as the Winter Classic and Stadium Series. The opponents for the Avalanche, as well as the date, have yet to be announced.

Sportsnet is reporting that the league will name Dallas as the host city for next year's US -based Winter Classic while Regina is expected to host Canada's Heritage Classic at the home of the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Pats hired Toronto-based BaAM Productions, a world-renowned sports event production company which has run previous National Hockey League outdoor games, including Tuesday's Winter Classic at Notre Dame. The 1988 and 1970 games were held at the St. Louis Arena.

"This is a great day for not only Blues fans, but for the city of St. Louis", said Blues Chairman Tom Stillman in the press release.

The 2019 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic™ will feature the Calgary Flames and Winnipeg Jets at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Sask., on October 26. The game will be the second regular-season outdoor contest for both the Flames and Jets.

The Boston Bruins captain teased the NHL's annual New Year's Day event with his latest Instagram post, which he sent out on Monday night from South Bend, Indiana. The weekend will feature several hockey-themed events, including the All-Stars Skills competition. It marks the first time the Stars has hosted the event, which began in 2008. He's averaged 19:19 of ice time in two games back.
