Floyd Mayweather Jr scored a brutal first-round knockout victory in a mismatched exhibition fight against Tenshin Nasukawa in Saitama.

Twenty-year-old Nasukawa was knocked down three times in the first round, prompting his side to throw in the towel.

The bout was scheduled for three 3-minute rounds, but Mayweather needed only one as he came out throwing heat from the very start.

Floyd Mayweather knocked Tenshin Nasukawa out in the opening round as their big-money fight turned into a farce.

Essentially retired from professional boxing, it's the second time in succession Mayweather has taken on a fighter making his boxing debut - after he fought, and stopped, Conor McGregor in 2017. So once again, I'm still retired.

"I want to say thank you to Tenshin. You guys have been awesome, thank you". There was some concern that he would no-show because Mayweather was over two hours late to the event.

"We are both still undefeated", Mayweather said, per The Mirror's Jake Polden.

Nasukawa lands a straight left on Mayweather after Mayweather misses a straight right.

Mayweather boasted a four-inch height advantage over his opponent and ten pounds in weight advantage and this size difference made the match-up embarrassing inside the ring.

As for Nasukawa, he remains 28-0 in kickboxing and 4-0 in MMA, seemingly with a bright future ahead of him. Nasukawa, however, barely landed a clean punch against the vastly more experienced Mayweather. "I'm still undefeated. This was just entertainment for the people". Tenshin is a true champion and a hell of a fighter.

More than anything, though, Pacquiao hopes beating Broner lures Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) out of retirement for a rematch later in 2019.
