"Bear Down - Low Down": Week 17 vs. Vikings

- The Chicago Bears capped off an incredible season Sunday with a 24-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

Chicago, the NFC North division champion, can not finish any worse than third but must defeat the Vikings and hope for San Francisco to defeat the Rams in Los Angeles to jump into the No. 2 seed and earn a first-round bye.

The Vikings can still advance with a loss, but need defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia (8-7) to lose at Washington (7-8).

On the Vikings' second possession, on third-and-4, defensive tackle Eddie Goldman shot into the backfield, grabbed Kirk Cousins and whipped the helpless quarterback to the ground.

It's going to be hard for the Bears to move up in the standings and earn a bye.

Chicago also pulled receivers Anthony Miller (shoulder) and Taylor Gabriel (shoulder) out of the game at the first signs of trouble, and limited right guard Kyle Long to one half of action in his return from injured reserve. Although the 49ers are not a playoff team, the blueprint the Bears used last week makes sense. Los Angeles will host the San Francisco 49ers, who are winless on the road and lost to the Rams by 29 points earlier this season. What team will Philadelphia play on Wild-Card Weekend? They are a game behind the No.2 seed Los Angeles Rams. "Coach says, 'Go, ' and we're going".

Like I said, he knows what's best for this team - not you or I, not the media, not the "experts", or anyone else for that matter. "But the mindset is to continue to stay aggressive and just play in each play and take what the defense gives you". The Vikings turned the ball over three times and trailed 22-6 before recovering in the fourth quarter in a 25-20 loss.

"We're not about being revengeful or getting back to anybody", coach Matt Nagy said. Minnesota has won two in a row with Cousins and the offense - particularly the running game - making strides. The Seattle Seahawks are only a game ahead of the Eagles for the No.5 seed, but they own the tiebreaker. As fans, though, we should know that we ought to trust the head coach this season.

"It's not complicated", Cousins said.

The Kansas City Chiefs wrapped up the top seed in the AFC playoffs with an emphatic 35-3 victory over the Oakland Raiders, in which Patrick Mahomes made his final case for NFL Most Valuable Player by throwing for 281 yards and two touchdowns.
