Hunt is shown being restrained several times by friends before pushing a woman to the ground, when he proceeds to kick her. Police were called to the scene during the February 10 incident, no charges were filed and no punishment was handed out by the NFL.

Patrick Mahomes became friends with Kareem Hunt a year ago, when they were part of the same Kansas City Chiefs draft class. Hunt was the NFL's leading rusher as a rookie last season.

A spokeswoman for Baltimore-based Under Armour (NYSE: UAA) confirmed Saturday morning that the brand "parted ways" with Hunt.

The incident happened in February at the Metropolitan at the 9 Hotel in Cleveland two days after Hunt had moved into a luxury apartment there. Hunt shoves the woman who then hits him during an argument. Abigail Ottinger, 19, and a friend were with Hunt and a group on a party bus earlier in the night and went back to Hunt's apartment, according to reports. Police were called to the scene, but no charges were filed for the February 10 incident. "It's been a tough time for me and I'm extremely embarrassed because of that video", Hunt said. I was in the wrong. But like I said, the men in this circle, the men in our locker room, the organization, Chiefs kingdom - we got one goal to win the Super Bowl. During the interview, Rice said he'd be willing to help Hunt figure things out. "I'm ashamed of myself".

"The Chiefs are right". That next stage starts Monday, when Hunt will learn by 4 p.m. ET if any of the other 31 teams have claimed him off waivers. During Hunt's interview with Lisa Salters, he confirmed that the National Football League didn't interview him.

"It's really unfortunate." Evan Casey, Chiefs fan, said. Kareem was not truthful in those discussions.

On Friday, the Kansas City Chiefs announced they were cutting Hunt after video of the assault was published by TMZ.

The team said "The video today confirms that fact". The team then talked to the NFL about it and were given assurances the league would look into it.

For the Chiefs and the league, the fallout raises questions about the commitment to addressing domestic violence incidents, a problem it attempted to solve with an investigation after the Ray Rice public-relations crisis four years ago.

"The NFL's ongoing investigation will include further attempts to speak to the complainants involved in the incident", the statement read.
