Liverpool will look to bounce back from defeat in Paris when they clash with Merseyside rivals Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.

The jewel in PSG's expensively assembled crown has not always produced his best performances when his team needed them, but Liverpool could not handle Neymar.

Liverpool however were handed a lifeline on the stroke of half-time in the shape of a penalty, as Di Maria hauled down Sadio Mane inside the area with a rash challenge, giving James Milner the chance to convert from the spot and half the deficit heading into the interval.

Meanwhile, PSG head to Belgrade for their last game still needing to win to be certain of advancing, but at least they have their fate in their hands.

Liverpool's 2-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Parc de Princes has made their qualification ambitions from Group C of the Champions League a fair bit more hard. I don't know if there's any explanation for that right now because I can't think of one - otherwise we should have used it already.

Tuchel suggested his fellow German was using it as a smokescreen for his side's defeat.

FW Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, 6 - A surprisingly astute introduction from Tuchel in place of Cavani, he was an ideal battering ram and makeshift defender as the clock ticked down. The French club beat Jurgen Klopp and company 2-1 on Wednesday during the fifth matchday.

Liverpool had never all three Champions League away group in a season prior to the 2017/18 edition, however the Reds simply haven't been good enough on their travels in Europe. "We need to be up for it and we will be", added Van Dijk.

But Liverpool did not give up.

Klopp was incensed by the "behaviour" of Les Parisiens and their on-field antics as they rode out 2-1 winners throughout Liverpool's loss which now leaves them in the precarious position of having to beat Napoli by a 1-0 scoreline or at least two goals at Anfield.

MF Adrien Rabiot, NR - He was not lacking commitment when he was given five minutes towards the end and mucked in with everybody else as things got feisty.
