Facebook down Social network goes dark
It's unclear what caused the outage. "We're working to resolve the issue as soon as possible".
Facebook went down for some users on Monday afternoon.
Facebook was down this morning in the U.S., as well as other parts of the world. "Oh no. How will I know what my extended family and people I hate from highschool have opinions on now?!?!?!?!?!" In response, users took their frustrations to other websites.
In Kansas, Overland Park Police Department sent out a tweet out asking residents not to call 911 over the half-hour down time.
UPDATE: Nov. 12, 2018, 11:53 a.m. PST: According to the same company spokesperson, everything is now fixed. On top of that, the website boasts approximately 2.27 billion monthly active users.
People on Twitter also reported issues.
"Sorry, something went wrong", the error message read.
Some users in the United Kingdom reported problems with the site today as well, though countries in the Eastern Hemisphere largely appear to have dodged the worst of it.
Here's the message users receive when they try to visit Facebook on November 12, 2018, at around 1 p.m. ET.
