Dez Bryant will get his chance at revenge with the Saints

Saints sign ex Cowboys WR Dez Bryant

Immediately Bryant jumps onto the depth chart as the Saints' second-best receiver behind Michael Thomas, meaning for the first time in his career, Bryant won't be relied on as a No.1 receiver.

Last season was Bryant's best since he caught 88 passes for 1,320 yards and 16 TDs in 2014, which at the time was his third consecutive season with at least 1,200 yards receiving. The Saints also have free-agent signing Cameron Meredith, who's been unable to do much with the team, totaling just nine catches for 114 yards and one touchdown this season.

Bryant could not have landed with a better team.

On the day he was released, Bryant blamed the move on the fact that multiple players on the Cowboys roster didn't want him on the team anymore.

"Not at all. Ever since I got here, Dez was nothing but a help for me", Elliott said. You're getting a very passionate individual. From the people who love this game, who've played, they can understand that about it being somewhat harder for other people to figure that out. Like Colston, Bryant now struggles to separate from man coverage, but that issue is somewhat mitigated by his excellent ball skills, ability to outmuscle smaller corners (he'll see a ton of those in the slot!) and having Drew Brees, the league's most accurate quarterback, putting the ball in spots that make it easier to make those contested catches.

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett told reporters that Bryant will be a good fit in the Crescent City. "I know it's important to him". Really happy for him and that opportunity. Not surprisingly then, the league's second-best scoring offense (34.9 points per game) calls New Orleans home. "It was more so knowing a guy like that is out there, and there might come a time when we could need a guy like that".

After nine weeks of the National Football League season, Bryant is set to join one of the NFL's best offenses, and it's a spot which could potentially benefit his career in a big way.

The Saints also worked out veteran receivers Brandon Marshall and Kamar Aiken on Tuesday before making the deal with Bryant.

The Bryant signing is all about postseason play for New Orleans.
