Doria Ragland got to know the royals including Prince Charles and Camilla at Meghan and Harry's wedding in May

The Queen has officially invited Meghan Markle's mum, Doria Ragland, to Christmas dinner with the royal family.

In previous years, Princess Anne has gifted brother Charles a leather toilet seat, Kate has bought Harry a "grow-your-own girlfriend" kit and the Queen has receiced a shower cap that reads "Ain't Life a Bitch!" from grandson Harry.

It's nearly Christmas time and it seems like the royal family will have another guest on their annual Christmas's Party, not counting those who are newly married to the family. Others put emphasis on the fact that Kate Middleton wasn't invited to the estate until after she married Prince William in 2011, even though they had dated for years.

Despite being married to one of the most famously British men out there, Meghan herself is now in the process of applying for British citizenship and, as an L.A. girl, she is technically still permitted to vote in her home country, the U.S. However, her new royal status blurs the lines of duty somewhat.

"Obviously Meghan's parents are in the United States, but the main reason [Meghan is invited] is clearly that it's what Harry wished", he continued.

Doria's composure during the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding back in May left a lasting impression on the Queen, especially in the midst of all the drama surrounding Meghan's father, Thomas Markle. This is a nice Christmas gift before the time!

"Doria's quiet dignity and grace at the Royal wedding has earned her enormous respect from Meghan's new in-laws", the source tells ET.

Meghan will attend not one but two church services on Christmas Day. While Kate's family have joined the Royals for mass on Christmas morning, they stayed at Anmer Hall.

Meghan and her mum, Doria Ragland, are said to have a close relationship.
