Socceroos star Trent Sainsbury cursed his misfortune after a dream Champions League debut for PSV turned into a nightmare against Tottenham. Lucas Moura and Hueng-min Son start in attack with Harry Kane captaining the side up front.

The Australian PSV defender was brought on in the 81st minute in his first taste of top flight European football, trying desperately to sure up the defence and hang on for a point away from home.

The Euro Club Index estimates the chance of progress for Spurs at around 15%.

Sainsbury admitted in a post-match interview that it's a game he'll always have very mixed feelings about.

The Tottenham manager admitted that he understood the emotion of the fans who were right to go against him, but claimed that he was happy that they agreed with his decision by the end of the game.

PSV enters the game under similar pressure, also trailing Inter by five points.

And after last night's heroics, Pochettino was in buoyant mood about his side's chances of reaching the Last-16.

Tottenham was in danger of heading out of the competition after just four games when they went behind after 61 seconds at Wembley Stadium. There was more to come from the England striker. We want to be in the next stage - it's not only that we need the help of Barcelona winning the game; we need to do our job and we need to perform as well. "In Milan I think we played better than them and I think we can beat them".

"We had to dig deep and find another level when it mattered". We did everything, everybody was fighting for the result.

Zoet frustrated Tottenham again with a brilliant double save, keeping out Eriksen's close-range shot, then scrambling to his feet to deny Alli from the follow-up before celebrating with a defiant fist-pump. I think we should be in a different position in the table but that's the reality.

With two matches remaining, at home to Inter Milan on November 28 and away to Barcelona on December 11, Tottenham remain in third place in Group B.

"Two games to play, if we are capable of beating Inter Milan we are going to be with them on seven points with one game to play", said Spurs boss Pochettino.

"The team is growing up".

'I understand [the boos],' said Pochettino.
