Republicans Edge Democrats in Early Voting Nationwide

Early voting sign Miami

Keep in mind, this doesn't mean that voters stuck within their own party, it just means in states that have party registration, we can see how many voters registered to each party have cast early ballots.

They can send in their ballot by mail, drop it off at the Registrar of Voters Office in Kearny Mesa or drop it off at any one of 59 additional sites throughout the county before Election Day. "Numerous voters who participate in early voting are chronic voters taking advantage of the convenience".

The voter turnout for November 2016 was 72 percent, while the turnout in November 2014 was 48 percent.

So candidates like Democrat Stacey Abrams and Republican Brian Kemp in the Georgia governor's race are keeping their eye on how many non-2014 voters have cast ballots.

Bencoach reports that as of this morning 54 percent of the mail absentee ballots issued by the city (836 of 1,541) had not yet been returned.

In Carter, 9,722 people have voted so far, more than double the 4,252 votes in 2014.

In addition, the Federal Bureau of Investigation will have special agents available in each field office and resident agency throughout the country to receive allegations of election fraud and other election abuses on Election Day.

Central College political scientist Andrew Green says that's despite a smaller window for early voting this election.

New statistics released Tuesday by the state Division of Elections show that more than 1.26 million people have voted early.

The surge is due in large part to an increase in overall voter registration.

- Some voters in Barton County, Kansas, will have to travel 18 miles to get to their nearest polling site after officials cut the number of voting locations from 23 during the state primary to 11 for Tuesday's general election. Abrams' campaign believes it would benefit them, though Republicans nationally note that President Donald Trump brought many new voters to the polls in 2016 - and those voters are still "new" midterm voters.
