Lewis Hamilton net worth: How much does F1 superstar make?

Lewis Hamilton will have to wait at least until Sunday before he can celebrate a fifth Formula One world title after failing to win the United States Grand Prix last night.

"I wasn't really disappointed with the decision at any point".

" [We] just made it so hard for ourselves - we came out, I had to catch Kimi, caught him and [the] tyres were dead, and then he did his stop and was catching me with fresh tyres, and then I came out after the last stop and had the 12 seconds to catch up".

Former F1 driver Timo Glock says he feels for Sebastian Vettel.

"Not where I wanted to finish, but I really enjoyed the race and getting to be in a battle with these cars with these guys was awesome", he said.

It will be nice viewing for future Renault driver Daniel Ricciardo, too, after he had to watch most of the race from the pits after his Red Bull lost power on lap nine. "They were quicker today and ultimately just did a better job". I didn't know. If that was me and Seb, for example, I would have been a lot more tighter and more aggressive if we were fighting for the championship, but there was no need. "I am not sure about the reasoning for the early stop".

"It's been a great weekend", the Finn, who is leaving Ferrari at the end of the year, said.

When it was put to Raikkonen whether Ferrari should have kept him, he retorted: "I think people don't understand I'm actually very happy where I'm going".

"Once we had done the stop on [lap] 11, I knew we would be doing two".

Kimi Raikkonen has dismissed suggestions that his Austin win shows he should have been kept by Ferrari, insisting he is excited by "different challenges" post-2018.

"But we've had some incredible weekends this year and still to get a third, I'm still grateful for that - but naturally starting first and finishing third is never a good thing".

Hamilton got off to a poor start, with Vettel's Ferrari teammate Raikonnen - starting in second spot on ultrasoft tires - providing the early fireworks when he overtook the Brit into the first corner.

He eventually got past before the midway mark and although he had plenty of clear air to drive in, the soft compound was unable to see him through to the chequered flag.

The German fought back to finish fourth, passing Hamilton's team-mate Valtteri Bottas in the closing stages of an action-packed race, but now has to win all of the remaining three rounds just to stand any chance of stopping Hamilton.
