"In just 15 days the people of Texas are going to re-elect a man who has become a really good friend of mine", Trump added. Use that word", he roared, as the crowd erupted in cheers of "USA!

Late night host Jimmy Kimmel weighed in on the closely watched Senate race in Texas Monday night, calling on viewers to support the Democratic candidate Beto O'Rourke for "comedy sake".

Trump embraced Cruz as he took the stage at the Toyota Center in Houston as he praised the Senator seeking re-election in November and jokingly referred to their contentious campaign against each other during the 2016 presidential primary as a "love fest".

Maybe you remember seeing the video from May 2016 of Cruz talking to a knot of Trump supporters in IN, days before that state's all-important primary, the primary that would end up breaking Cruz's campaign more or less for good.

President Donald Trump showed his support for Sen.

Trump kicked off the bromance earlier in the day by giving Cruz a new nickname. Trump asked his audience.

"And the President did lent a tiny hand at a rally for Cruz in Houston tonight, which had to be the saddest call Ted Cruz ever had to make", Kimmel sympathized.

Cruz once called Trump a "serial philanderer" and "sniveling coward". I said, "Don't worry, it's only a question of time'". "He's Beautiful Ted. I call him Texas Ted", Trump said as he boarded Marine One en route to Houston.

Trump believes that his campaign pledges, including his much vaunted - and still-unfulfilled - promise to quickly build a US-Mexico border wall, are still rallying cries.

Cruz seems to agree-or at least he's resigned to the new arrangements. "And when it was over, we've gotten along great", he told reporters at the White House.

"You know what I am, I'm a nationalist", Trump said.

"For all middle income people 10%" the president said.

Referring to the caravan of thousand of illegal migrants headed to the USA from Central American, Mr. Trump said, "As we speak, the Democratic Party is openly encouraging millions of illegals to break our laws, violate our borders, and overwhelm our nation".

"In that caravan you have some very bad people", Trump said.

'Immensely wealthy countries, and we have to get reimbursed for that.

"Democrats had something to do with it and now they said I think we made a big mistake".

"To protect your state and your country, you need to elect a Republican House and a Republican Senate", Trump said.

The total number of migrants now headed to the USA border is estimated to be about 7,200, the United Nations said Monday. During the campaign, Trump nicknamed Cruz "Lyin' Ted" and mocked the appearance of his wife Heidi. The event was shifted to a larger arena to accommodate interest, according to Mr. Trump's campaign.

The comment came at midterm rally in Texas, where he escalated his immigration rhetoric, falsely accusing Democrats of "encouraging millions of illegal aliens to break our laws, violate our borders and overwhelm our nation".
