Apple's cheaper iPhone XR to generate more revenue

Touted as the most affordable offering in the iPhone 2018 lineup, the iPhone XR offers an LCD display, a single rear camera, and multiple colour options differentiating it from the flagship iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. But unlike the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, which went on sale on September 21, the iPhone XR goes up for pre-order only tomorrow, October 19.

Apple invited me to check out the iPhone XR for a brief test drive before preorders start tonight.

Apple's iPhone XR is now available to pre-order ahead of next week's release on October 26.

For those users in India who want to buy the Apple iPhone XR, here's how they can pre-book the smartphone right away.

And finally, there's the iPhone XR.

While everyone is talking about how great and expensive the new iPhone XS and XS Max are, the silent spectator of it all is ready to steal the limelight. Let us know in the comments. The XR will also be available in 128GB and 256GB storage variants priced at Rs 81,900 and Rs 91,900, respectively.

The iPhone XR is available for preorder starting tonight at midnight PT (12:01 a.m. PT), and it hits stores on Friday, Oct. 26. The device also gets a single camera sensor on the back instead of dual cameras as on the other two iPhones. This brings down the effective starting price to Rs 73,055. Indian consumers can consider pre-booking the iPhone XR model via e-retail platforms Flipkart, Amazon India, Paytm Mall, Airtel's online e-store as well as authorised Apple resellers like Imagine.

The phone will be available in blue, yellow, red, black, white and coral similar to the iPhone 5C in 2013.

Like the iPhone Xs, the iPhone Xr does not have any home button and relies on Face ID for biometric authentication. The phone is powered by Apple's latest six-core A12 Bionic SoC, coupled with a quad-core GPU, 3GB of RAM, and 64GB/ 128GB/ 256GB of inbuilt storage.
