Russia may take an Indian astronaut to the International Space Station (ISS) on board a Soyuz spacecraft for a short training mission in 2022, a Russian space industry source as quoted by a Russian media report. Rogozin said the commission's main line of inquiry was that the hole had been drilled deliberately, a position that has been voiced in the past. It was decided that another astronaut and cosmonaut was due to join the space station crew in this month.

NASA declined to comment on those remarks at the time. Though NASA called the leak "minor" and said the six-person crew was never in danger, astronauts were concerned about the potential need for an emergency evacuation.

Powers said in a statement that, "No one is saying, and certainly NASA is not saying, that it was deliberate".

"We are considering the possibility that this happened at the Station", Krakow said, adding that the Roskosmos committee investigating the causes is hard to imagine that happened during the space flight.

ISS astronauts are planning a spacewalk in November to gather more information on the hole.

Feustel, Arnold and Artemyev spent 197 days in space.

The crew, which were part of Expedition 56, rode the Russian Soyuz MS-08/54S spacecraft back to our planet, and everything about the departure and descent appears to have gone just according to plan. This issue is to be discussed, in particular, when Rogozin will meet with NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine on October 10.

The spacewalkers also replaced components of the space station's cooling system and communications network, and installed new wireless communication antennas for external experiments.

NASA will broadcast the return of the space mission.
