EPL: Ian Wright reacts to Ramsey leaving Arsenal on free transfer

Aaron Ramsey will leave Arsenal at the end of the season

Unai Emery was coy in his response to questions over Aaron Ramsey's future at the club.

Contract talks between Arsenal and midfielder Aaron Ramsey have collapsed, a source has told ESPN FC, raising the prospect of the Wales global leaving on a free transfer next summer.

Ramsey is currently on just over £100,000-a-week (€112,000) but could realistically expect around £200,000-a-week over the next four years given his own status and the salaries that are now being paid elsewhere at Arsenal. I want to have also the best preparation for him for his mentality and his quality to give us our best performance, to help us to win'. Each player has individual aspects to work, or to do, or to speak with the club or with the team. It is no secret that he wants to play in a central midfield role, but with Ozil considered the club's biggest asset after signing a new deal in January, it always seemed unlikely that he would get his way.

"The career for the footballer is very short", he said.

Emery does not believe the midfielder's performances will suffer because of the speculation over his future and hinted he would be ready start the game.

"Barca play very good football and Arsenal want to do the same", Ramsey told Marca. What I can control is tomorrow.

"The best for us, for him and everyone is to take each match and do your best, to show every supporter their best quality".

Arsenal have won their last six matches in all competitions unlike Watford, who have not won in their last three, but Emery offered words of praise for his opposite number Javi Gracia. "But in Spain he's a respected coach". Asked about Saturday's game against Watford, he said: 'I am not going to change my idea'.
