Maybe in a year Chelsea will be at Liverpool's level - Sarri

Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri, has said that Chelsea will need as much as a year to be on the same level with Liverpool.

The Hammers became the first team this season to take points off Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea as they played out a goalless draw in the London Stadium.

"We needed two wingers".

Liverpool players will be confident of picking up two wins against Chelsea this coming week given the form they are in as well as wanting to maintain their ideal start to the season, winning seven from seven in all competitions.

"We need to move the ball quicker, " Sarri said, "and we need more movement without the ball".

"We are improving in the defensive phase, but we have to improve in the offensive phase, especially in this kind of match".

West Ham have improved in recent weeks, after picking up four points from their last two games.

Marcos Alonso, while an excellent footballer, is most certainly not a full-back and the thought of Mohamed Salah running at him in transition - with David Luiz the last line of defence behind the Spaniard - should fill Sarri with dread. We have started to work all together only about 40 days ago, less 10 for the global break, so for us it's a bit early. Less if you include the worldwide breaks.

"I don't know where the statistics we had seven opportunities to three", said Sarri. Maybe now [they are] in confidence after they won away against Everton.

Chelsea hogged the ball in the first half but West Ham were unsafe when they were able to break out, Michail Antonio proving a real handful.

First, after being put through on goal by Felipe Anderson, he could only fire over when one-on-one with the 'keeper.

Kepa Arrizabalaga then kept Chelsea level a few moments later, blocking Antonio's close-range effort after a driving Yarmolenko run.

While the world's most expensive goalkeeper deserved credit for a fine save, Arnautovic, who has scored three and assisted another of West Ham's five goals this season, would likely have converted one, or both, of Antonio's chances.

The match fell into a similar pattern in the second half, Chelsea searching for openings around the West Ham box but Felipe Anderson and Yarmolenko looked risky when the home side broke forward.

The best chance of the game, however, fell West Ham's way when Yarmolenko was alone at the far post to meet a flawless cross from Robert Snodgrass, but put his header wide. Alvaro Morata's first attempt hit goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski in the face and later Ross Barkley's curler was also kept out by the home goalkeeper.

"They have had one more day of rest".

"When you have such clear chances against a big team, you must score at least one of them".

The Italy worldwide dropped his first points as a Chelsea player at the London Stadium, with the Hammers proving to be a nut too tough to crack, but it was a great day for him on a personal level.
