Cleveland Browns lose again after Zane Gonzalez misses crucial kicks

Gonzalez's botched his first extra point after the Browns went up 12-3 in the third quarter at New Orleans.

Joseph opened the 2017 college season with a 54-yard field goal against Navy, his career best.

The Browns have three days to prepare new kicker Greg Joseph for his National Football League debut.

Joseph is a rookie out of Florida Atlantic University that did not make the Miami Dolphins team.

Nevertheless, Joseph is set to become Cleveland's kicker of the hour.

Gonzalez misfired on two extra points and two field-goal attempts, including a 52-yarder in the final seconds that would have forced overtime on Sunday.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Gonzalez has been kicking with a groin injury that requires an MRI.

During Browns training camp, Gonzalez was in competition with former Walsh Jesuit High School kicker Ross Martin.

Kicker Zane Gonzalez pulled it left.

Then, after the Saints took a three-point lead with 21 seconds remaining, the Browns worked the ball down the field from their own 25-yard line to the New Orleans 34 after Taylor completed passes of 25 and 16 yards to Jarvis Landry and Callaway, respectively.

The social media manager at Clevelanddotcom is certainly well aware that Twitter is one of the most brutal places for criticism and nasty comments, so asking for messages to Gonzalez at this point is like asking to receive a death threat.

Coach Hue Jackson admits that dynamic poses a challenge with a Thursday night bout against the Jets fast approaching.
