Separately, a new report by 9to5Mac citing sources claims that Apple is deciding to do away with the "Plus" branding and will instead attach Max to its biggest iPhone.

Analysts believe Apple plans to release three new smartphones this year, with a cheaper version that is similar to the current iPhone X using LCD screen technology.

The name iPhone XS Max just sounds odd, nearly something the company is putting out there in an attempt to catch leakers. We'll find out the truth at the upcoming Apple event on September 12.

Pictures of the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have already leaked, showing a familiar-looking design, albeit in a new gold colour scheme. Pricing is expected to start at $899 for the 5.8-inch model with 64GB of storage and goes all the way up to $1,149 for the top-of-the-line 6.5-inch iPhone XS. The 3 iPhones include upgrades to the existing iPhone X and as well as iPhone 9. To help CXOs, IT leaders, and professionals understand Apple's newest iPhone, we've put together the most important details and resources in this cheat sheet.

Some Apple customers with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s models were having battery issues.

Previous rumours had suggested Apple may christen this device the iPhone XS Plus, but it now appears to have gone down the Pepsi route. With that in mind, take these prices with a grain of salt - especially with regards to the iPhone Xs family.

According to 9to5Mac Apple will also launch a new Apple Watch.

Just like the iPhone X, the iPhone XS will feature the Secure Enclave hardware-based key manager and Face ID biometric authentication.

While the 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch iPhones will get dual cameras with two 12-megapixel lenses, the LCD variant will get a single lens setup with a 12-megapixel sensor.
