OnePlus will also sell unlocked versions of the phone in the US, which will be able to use other carriers such as AT&T. The smartphone will also be sold via T-Mobile stores.

T-Mobile will sell a model of the OnePlus 6T that's optimized for its network, including a new band that T-Mobile promises will deliver "better and faster" coverage, according to the report. The delay in this approval can postpone the launch in the U.S. and, maybe across the globe.

Partnering with a U.S. carrier is a great move that should raise awareness of OnePlus in the US.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said that it was beginning talks with USA carriers back at CES this past January, so while we've been expecting an announcement like this for some time, it's exciting to finally know that T-Mobile will be the company's launch partner in the U.S.

It also an added point for success that T-Mobile, as well as AT&T, are both compatible with the unlocked versions of OnePlus phones. And the OnePlus 6 already has a notch. The first phone of the year comes out in the spring and a "T" variant later in the fall. However, the unlocked phone will most likely cost the same without a contract. And for good reason: CNET explains today that the smartphone will be on sale at an american operator called T-Mobile.

This is a huge win for OnePlus in the U.S.as the majority smartphone sales happen through carriers. Contrast that to its most recent device, the OnePlus 6, which starts at $529. The price isn't finalized, however, so take that with a pinch of salt.

Not a lot is known about the specifications and features of the OnePlus 6T. The OnePlus 6 was launched around three months ago in May.

The OnePlus 6T will come with the Snapdragon 845, up to 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. There are reports that the design will see some change, especially with regards to the notched display.
