Woodland, who has completely revamped his game, particularly his putting, was asked if he wasn't able to feel "safe" with the lead because the golf course is yielding so many low scores.

The PGA Championship is being contested with the Wanamaker Trophy on the line for the 100th time in its history this week, but while there were come hiccups on Friday, we are back rolling again on Saturday with Round 3 action at Bellerive Country Club.

On Saturday morning, Woods took the course to finish his second round.

That meant the 34-year-old American missed out on a record-equalling round of 63 like Koepka and Schwartzel.

Woodland shot a 66 and finished his day as leader in the clubhouse by one stroke with a score of 130, a record after two days at the PGA Championship. Kevin Kisner shot a six under par 64 to sit at 9 under par, one shot out of the lead.

He watched playing partners McIlroy and Woods immediately birdie the par-five eighth on resumption, with the Northern Irishman picking up two further birdies to move to three under, seven shots off the lead.

After two more solid shots at the par-4 ninth, Day will face a 22-foot birdie putt when play resumes.

While countryman Adam Scott is safely in the clubhouse five shots off the pace, Day was among the half of the field who failed to complete their second rounds before play was suspended for the day due to unsafe weather.

Kisner, playing alongside Woodland, shot 64 Friday. "For sure, it was the craziest round I think he's ever seen".

"I missed two putts on 10 and 12 and that stopped momentum a bit, " he said in a brief interview before getting ready for the third round. "I'm not too anxious with what anyone else is doing out there". "Hopefully I can go shoot a low one this afternoon".

Finau was among five players who accompanied Furyk to France this summer for a scouting trip at Le Golf Nacional, the host course of the September 28-30 Ryder Cup matches.

Said Kisner: "Got to listen to all of the KU/Missouri banter all day with Gary, I didn't know that was such a rivalry".

"For me, I'm very happy with where I'm at". "I didn't know that was such a rivalry". The golf course is gettable and I'm holing a few putts. "We're going to have a pretty good battle if I can keep up with him". Personally, I would prefer more hard and firmer, faster conditions on the greens.
