Fekir was on the verge of a £53m transfer to Liverpool in June only to see his switch to Anfield placed on hold because of concerns over the France international's fitness.

Fellow defenders Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan are struggling with hip and hamstring injuries respectively, while Croatia global Dejan Lovren only returned from his post-World Cup holiday on Monday.

The 29-year-old could come into contention for Liverpool's final pre-season fixture against Torino on Tuesday, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez the only senior centre-backs now fit and available.

Joel Matip (hip) and Ragnar Klavan (hamstring) both missed Saturday's 5-0 thrashing of Italian side Napoli due to injuries and are doubtful for Liverpool's final pre-season match against Torino on Tuesday.

"We do not know what will happen in the future but I am very good here".

"He was very comfortable on the ball five minutes in and it meant we could show for it and he was starting most of our play, so it was a very good performance from him, but overall the squad performed very well today".

Despite spending over £180m on four new players this summer, Jurgen Klopp suggested over the weekend that further signings may be possible at Liverpool.

'Maybe we will do some magic things with the formation on Tuesday.

And Jurgen Klopp's side are not expected to go back in for Fekir before Thursday's Premier League transfer deadline.

"I thought he looked very comfortable and I think we adapted to him quite easily".

Liverpool made Alisson the most expensive goalkeeper of all time last month when they and Roma struck a deal which could eventually reach €72.5million. "It is not about judging our situation and thinking "wow, really good". That is our challenge".
