Staff at the home in northern Germany raised the alarm after the men went missing on Friday night.

Police said the pair were discovered "disorientated and dazed" in the early hours of Saturday at Wacken Open Air.

A local police officer Merle Neufeld said: 'Both were disoriented and apathetic'. But this year's festival also featured a couple of on-the-run metalheads who were clearly enticed by a stunning bill of bands. Among this year's scheduled performers: Walking Dead on Broadway, Judas Priest, Arch Enemy, Cannibal Corpse and Die from Sorrow. "The care home quickly organised a return transport after police picked them up". "However, the men were reluctant to go home, so a patrol auto accompanied the taxi as a precaution".

"They obviously liked the metal festival", a police spokesperson told broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk.

Elderly people are presumed to enjoy the peace and quiet. "How cool is that, please?"

The residency alerted police once the individuals were determined to be missing and responders found the duo at around 3 a.m in attendance at Wacken.
