India wants to work with BRICS nations on fourth Industrial Revolution says Narendra Modi

The latest declaration was issued after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met all BRICS leaders, and was in the process of meeting at least three of them separately.

The summit, which started on Wednesday and will end on Friday, is an worldwide relations conference attended by the heads of state and government of the five member states.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday left for home after concluding his three-nation Africa tour during which he attended the BRICS Summit in South Africa and he held bilateral meetings with several world leaders including presidents of China and Russian Federation.

President Edgar Lungu has arrived in South Africa for the ongoing 10th Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) summit in Johannesburg. A number of presidents whose countries are not members of BRICS were invited to attend, among them President Mnangagwa and Turkey leader, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"South Africa, and Africa more broadly, can benefit from increasing exports to fast growing countries like India and China".

In his summit address, Xi urged fellow leaders of the BRICS emerging economies to "reject protectionism outright".

"High-skill but temporary work will be the new face of employment", the prime minister said. "It could also create new faultlines in our societies", he said.

He implored BRICS members to unite to be better able to confront the challenges and seize the opportunities that this new age of development presents.

President Putin praised the late former South Africa President Nelson Mandela. "Mr Mandela's legacy is reflected in the activities of Brics".

Efforts by China to build a coalition in its trade war against the USA are underway, with provisions for Xi to announce additional moves against the US during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia on September 11-13 and to perhaps "formerly declare war" said the source.Xi will also tell Putin that China strongly supports denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, reports say.

The BRICS Johannesburg Declaration did not have any reference to terror groups Lashkar-e-Taiba or Jaish-e-Mohammad, a year after the Pakistan-based terror groups were named for the first time in the BRICS declaration in Xiamen.

They also seek reforms at the United Nations, the UN Security Council and the International Monetary Fund to better represent developing nations, and have asked that members of the World Trade Organization - including the USA - abide by WTO rules as the multilateral trading system faces "unprecedented challenges". South Africa's Minister of Trade and Industry Dr Rob Davies said more business-to-business projects are needed to drive economic cooperation among BRICS countries.
