The company's Mi India Twitter handle has confirmed the launch date soon after Xiaomi announced the Mi A2 (and the Mi A2 Lite) for the global market in Spain.

Basically, Just like past year, Xiaomi is reintroducing the Mi 6X as Mi A2 and Redmi 6 Pro as Mi A2 Lite with Google's Android One for Global Markets. Future owners of the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite will also receive unlimited high-quality Google Photos storage applicable to any image taken with either device. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The Mi A2 also foregoes hardware navigation buttons in favor of onscreen ones.

Xiaomi Mi A2, A2 Lite price and availability The Xiaomi Mi A2 comes at a starting price of Euro 249 (roughly Rs 20,000), for the base variant that offers 4GB RAM with 32GB internal storage. When it comes to RAM and storage, you can choose from a combination of 4 GB RAM/32GB storage (€249), 4 GB RAM/64GB storage (€279), and 6GB RAM/128GB storage (€349). There are three color options - Black, Gold, and Blue. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset along with Adreno 506 GPU.

Ahead of the teaser for today's announcement, rumors had suggested that the Mi A2 would be based on the Xiaomi Mi 6X that came out in April.

Xiaomi recently hinted at a possible telephoto lens in the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite.

The Mi A2 builds on that success with upgraded internals featuring a Snapdragon 660, a dual-camera array, a 6-inch 1080p display, and up to 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. In the camera department, it is rumoured to have a vertically stacked dual rear camera setup with a 12MP primary sensor and a 20MP selfie camera.

Mi A2 features a 5.99-inch Full-screen IPS LCD panel with 18:9 aspect ratio.

Under the hood, you'll find a Snapdragon 625 at 2GHz; you can choose between 3GB RAM with 32 GB of space, and 4GB RAM with 64GB.

The Xiaomi Mi A2's biggest highlight, of course, is the software. All this is powered by a 3010mAh battery which you can charge using the USB Type-C port on the phone.

Besides a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, there's not much in the way of security that's on offer with Xiaomi's Mi A2, but its Project Treble support should guarantee that the handset is updated with monthly security patches on a regular basis for at least the following two years. It is also possible that the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite may sport an even lower price tag. The Mi A2 will start selling on 27 July in Spain and it will gradually be launched in the mentioned markets throughout August. Meanwhile, the front comes with a modest 5MP selfie camera that supports AI portrait mode.
