After movie, Cher to release album of Abba covers

Consequently, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again relies on the Swedish pop group's lesser known album tracks to reflect characters' whirling emotions, interspersed with euphoric reprises of Dancing Queen, Super Trouper and the title track.

So much love: Meryl Streep thinks Cher "steals" the show in Mamma Mia! The sequel to the 2008 smash "Mamma Mia!". She said the film is "fun at a time when we need fun". Here We Go Again in London, the costars shared a big kiss on the lips, probably making the rest of the cast jealous!

Thankfully, her mother's best friends, Tanya (Christine Baranski) and Rosie (Julie Walters), are on hand to allay Sophie's nerves.

It's not clear when the album is set to drop but fans are thrilled with the news.

This aligns perfectly with what other stars have said about a particularly emotional moment in the movie with Streep in that exact setting. Her energy is contagious, her charisma is infectious, and her singing was not half bad! Lily's version of Donna is one that could absolutely stand against Meryl's, especially given she's clearly taken a few tips from her.

Truthfully, I wasn't invested in the present day story at all until the last 15 minutes, where things really stat to pick up.

The new film is a prequel to the original and pivots on daughter Sophie, played by Seyfried, who returns to the Greek island of the original, where her mother Donna runs a hotel, to announce that she's pregnant. The former half of folk duo Sonny and Cher enjoyed a career revival in the 1990s and holds the record for the longest gap between number-one songs on the U.S. chart at almost 25 years. But I won't spoil that for you. "All and all a good night's work".

Cue flashbacks to the young Donna (Lily James) embarking on her lusty Mediterranean odyssey via Paris.
