Stormy Daniels Arrested for Allowing Touching at Strip Club

Stormy Daniels' lawyer tweeted early Thursday that she was arrested while performing at a Columbus strip club

Avenatti had earlier tweeted that the arrest was "a set-up" and "politically motivated".

Adult film star, alleged former mistress of Donald Trump, Stormy Daniels, was arrested Thursday in OH for touching strip club patrons, CNN reports. She says she is unable to go forward with her previously scheduled performance at Sirens after the events of Wednesday night.

Avenatti called the arrest a "complete set up".

'A customer touched her in a non-sexual manner and she was subsequently arrested for allowing the customer to touch her in a non-sexual manner, ' he said.

The 39-year-old, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, has piqued the nation's interest: More than 22 million Americans tuned in to see her speak on 60 Minutes in May.

"Are you kidding me?" he asked.

Franklin County Municipal Court records reportedly show that she was released Thursday morning after posting a $6,054 bail. "There has to be higher priorities", Avenatti wrote on Twitter.

'We will fight all bogus charges'.

A Columbus police spokeswoman did not immediately respond to requests for confirmation of the arrest. Officers also say she was fondling the breasts of female patrons.

Under Ohio law, a dancer at a sexually oriented business is barred from touching anyone but a family member when nude or semi-nude.

Dailymail.com reached out to Sirens who refused to comment.

In October 2016 on the eve of the presidential election, reports emerged that Daniels had been paid $130,000 by then-Trump attorney Michael Cohen in "hush money" in exchange for her silence about an alleged 2007 affair.

She is hoping to have the non-disclosure agreement thrown out on the grounds that it is not valid because Mr Trump never signed it.

Daniels has said she had sex with US President Donald Trump in 2006, when he was married, which Trump has denied.

While Cohen's carefully worded statement said the Trump Organization and campaign weren't involved in the payout, it conspicuously did not rule out Trump's involvement.
