The Lakers President did not mess around. The four-year return of James, with the addition of a championship, caused Cleveland's economy and pride to skyrocket.

The Lakers won only 35 games last season and were placed 11th in the Western Conference. "The acquisition of LeBron James means that the Lakers are just a smidgen away from being real contenders". "He didn't go to the Rockets, he didn't go to Golden State, he went to [the] Lakers, a team that finished 10th or 11th in their conference and now they're the number two favorite to win the title".

James and Bryant were Olympic teammates and there has been a perceived rivalry between the pair of alpha males.

"Y'all really thought he was gonna pass up the greatest city in the world..."

James gave Cleveland something to remember in his final season. Now, Denzel Washington, Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio and many other A-listers will have somewhere else to regularly go, another venue at which to be seen, at least for the team's 41 regular season home games. They've brought in known LeBron nemesis Lance Stephenson, as well as JaVale McGee and Rajon Rondo. All the three 1 year acquisitions are low-risk propositions for the Lakers.

"They've been supportive. They obviously understand where we're at as a team and what we're trying to do and what our big picture is", he said in a previous NBC report. This is an interesting move by the Lakers. His representatives spoke with the Cavs and Philadelphia 76ers before signing with the Lakers.

He did what he does best and once again showed that he can still be an elite playmaker in the league as he averaged 8.2 assists per game.

It's unclear what role he'll fulfil on the team with question marks now being raised about Lonzo Ball's future with the Lakers. However, Julius Randle and Isiah Thomas are already set to move out. With disgruntled San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard still out there and having reportedly asked to be traded to the Lakers, it's tough to just jump to the conclusion L.A. has outright flubbed its big acquisition of James. Sure, Bronny, 13, likely could reach his basketball potential anywhere - disposable income has that effect.

"This is a message to Lonzo Ball ..."

Other free-agents decided remaining with their team's was the best option.

The new-look Lakers are 100% playoff bound ( after missing the playoffs for the last 5 years). But LeBron is LeBron, and let's hope, for the love of God, that LaVar doesn't believe that LeBron needs his son in order to be a better basketball player. They want winning, veteran players there. Everything is in place.
