Kawhi still wants to be a Laker after LeBron signing

"Free agent guard JJ Redick will return to the Philadelphia 76ers on a 1-year deal in the $12M-to-13M range, league sources tell ESPN", he reports.

J.J. Redick, who last summer signed a big one-year deal with the Sixers, is doing the same thing this summer.

The superstar has agreed to 4-year, US$154 million deal which is likely to create a new contender in the NBA's Western Conference.

While the Los Angeles Lakers were fumbling around in the post-LeBron signing haze, Redick appeared to be the ideal addition to the Lake Show, but as they were scurrying to lock down JaVale McGee and Lance Stephenson, Philadelphia ensured the former Duke standout was not going to call anywhere but the Wells Fargo Center home in 2018-19. Last season, Evans, 28, averaged 19.4 points in 52 games with the Grizzlies. According to ESPN, James could still fetch as much as $207 million over five years from the Cavaliers, while other teams can offer a max of $152 million over four years.

For the third time in eight years, LeBron James is a free agent. Leonard has been at odds with the Spurs for months and asked for a trade, preferably to the Los Angeles Lakers.

If free agents have to take less because the market is very bad, they might as well join a star-studded team that all eyes will be on when the 2018-19 season tips off. The Cavaliers had said publicly that if James left, they would still try to win.

By declining his option, James positioned himself to be able to choose where he'll play next, and Cleveland, just up the road from his home near Akron, remains a strong possibility. Redick, 34, averaged a career-high 17.1 points, while hitting 42 percent of 3-pointers, in his first year with the 76ers last season, and provided a veteran presence on the young team, helping Philadelphia reach the playoffs for the first time in six years.
