Instagram has announced that you can now add a soundtrack to your story.

Once you've selected a song, a slider tool lets you choose exactly which part of the track you want to play during your Story. Tracks can be previewed before they're added; Once chosen, you can fast forward or rewind so the tune starts at the moment you choose. Tapping on it opens a library which has thousands of soundtracks where you can either browse or search for your favourite song. This makes it possible for users to record lip sync clips and mini music videos - a feature that's been extremely popular on Musically. This resolves a common user complaint regarding the inability to record an Instagram story while playing music from another app.

On Thursday, Instagram announced that they have 400 million daily users of their app, which is nothing short of insanely impressive. Here, they can find a song, scroll through it find the desired section of the song that they wish to use, and then capture something for their Story.

Today Stories gain music stickers. When your story is being watched, the song will play and a sticker will show the song title and artist name.

The feature is now available only in a few selected countries and Instagram is working towards launching the feature in more countries.

However, the the ability to choose a song before capturing video is available on iOS only, with Android functionality "coming soon".
