While the Senegalese supporters could have been forgiven for going on a wild party the second the match ended, instead they did something far better.

The videos have earned high praise by netizens for showing that even though they triumphed, the Japanese made sure to clean up before partying down.

Japan and Senegal supporters at the FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation have become a viral hit after they were filmed cleaning up the stadium after their respective matches.

"So Japan is basically the only country in the world where people have manners".

Cisse however agrees that after five defeats in the six games featuring African teams, the hunt for glory could take some time.

Senegal fans were also spotted on cleaning duty after they defeated Poland 2-1 at the Spartak Stadium in Moscow, the other game in Group H. Supporters of the Lions of Teranga were filmed collecting trash and piling it up at collection points to make life easier for cleaning staff.

We don't know about you, but we think there's enough similarities here for us to be die-hard Senegal fans for the remainder of the tournament.

Japan-based soccer writer Scott McIntyre told the BBC that cleaning up after yourself following a sporting event was "not just part of the football but part of Japanese culture".

Fans of both Senegal and Japan would've been expected to celebrate their nations' wins at the 2018 FIFA World Cup by pouring out onto the streets in celebration. It is a habit drilled into citizens from a young age, with students expected to clean their school classrooms and hallways.
