Intel processor and rear-facing camera for second-generation Samsung Chromebook Plus

The biggest difference between the Chromebook Plus (V2) and the 2017 model is that the former is powered by an Intel processor.

Samsung has now added a 13-Megapixel rear camera alongside the 1-Megapixel front camera that can be used for video calling and other purposes. It'll be here on June 24, with Best Buy serving as the main (and possibly exclusive) retail partner for the device.

The second-gen Samsung Chromebook Plus runs Chrome OS out-of-the-box, and sports a 12.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) touchscreen display with a peak brightness of 300 nits.

That Celeron two-core, two-thread processor isn't the fastest thing on the block, but it's an upgrade from the Cortex-A72 Rockchip 3399 found in the first-generation Chromebook Plus.

Samsung's Chromebook Plus (V2) makes another useful change by doubling up on the cameras, offering both front and rear-facing models.

Samsung Chromebook Plus V2 facilitates multi-device connectivity and easy file sharing feature between the laptop and mobile devices. Not only this, but the display panel's ratio has changed from 3:2 to 16:10.

Samsung has announced the second generation Chromebook Plus. That snapper is poised to provide high-resolution photos of the interiors of the user's nostrils when the machine is in traditional clamshell laptop mode, since the lens is positioned just above where the F2 and F3 keys would be on a Windows laptop.

On the memory front, the Samsung Chromebook Plus offers 4GB RAM, 32GB of inbuilt storage alongside a microSD card slot that can accommodate up to 400GB of additional memory. Write a note, sketch out an idea, edit a document, sign a document, or even use the pen to magnify small text and capture carefully cropped screenshots. It was one of the few Chromebooks on the market at that time that came with the Google Play Store installed out of the box.

Additionally, the V2's keyboard is built for resisting minor spills.
