What if Lebron James goes to Boston?

"I had emotions on [how] the game was taken away from us; I had emotions of [how] you just don't get an opportunity like this on the road versus Golden State to be able to get a Game 1, " he said.

The addition of LeBron James will undeniably make the Rockets a more competitive team next season, but bringing him to Houston won't be as easy as anyone thinks.

Free agency will present a number of intriguing options to James, who will have the option of starting anew with a handful of well-equipped suitors or returning to Cleveland to possibly finish his career where he started it.

In terms of lifestyle, the Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers would appear to be the frontrunners as those are the cities where he resides with his family during the regular season and the summer.

Other possible destinations are the Boston Celtics, the San Antonio Spurs, the Miami Heat and dare I say it, the Warriors. If they won, my Cavaliers-loving friends would blame it on the referees or the fact that LeBron had no help. "I knew that question would come".

Even if LeBron James declines his player option and leaves in free agency, Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert believes the organization can remain competitive.

"I hope he stays".

As James went on to point out, the idea of one day playing alongside his son, who is now one of the top 8th-grade basketball players in the country, isn't entirely far-fetched. "But after a game like that, I'm not in any position to talk about that". The Cavaliers would love to have James, but they've also made it pretty clear their incapable of beating the Kevin Durant Warriors even with James.

At the end of the day, the only thing we know is Lebron James wants to win and compete. "Hopefully I can break the mold so when the next guy comes, he can still get $200 or $300 million and be 33 years old".

About an hour after getting swept by the Warriors, James said he was still in "championship mode", leading some to believe his quest for more rings will be as important in Decision 3.0 as ever. They can offer James a five-year contract worth 35% of the salary cap, with 8% raises each season, whereas any opposing team can only give him four-year deals with 5% increases.

Yes, it would mean leaving millions on the table at the moment, just as Paul did last summer, but such a trade also would allow James to retain his Bird Rights with an acquiring team.

Whatever is next, James said his family will play a major role. "I let the emotions get the best of me". So sitting down and considering everything, my family is a huge part of whatever I'll decide to do in my career, and it will continue to be that.

"You want to ask me what would be the greatest achievement of my life?"
